ThePassion PlayinOur Sanctuary:
The Last Supper
Just before the Passion, Jesus called His Apostles together. He said, "Let's have one more last supper," Well, the Apostles didn't know it was going to be the crucifixion. It was His last supper. But they thought, "Oh boy, we're going to eat again." They weren't filled with the Holy Spirit, so they didn't know what was going to happen. So, they are excited about this last supper. They were going to eat.
Then they had wine and they had bread. In the middle of that supper Jesus stopped. He stood up and He took the cup and the bread and He said, "This is My Body." He didn't say this is like unto my body. "This is My Body. This is My Blood." He knew He was going to go through the Passion, but His love was so great for you, He wanted to be with you so you wouldn't have all this sorrow. So He gave to each and everyone of us His Body and Blood, the Eucharist.
The Garden of Gethsemane
After the supper was over, the final hymn was sung. Jesus said to His Apostles, "I feel the need to pray." He knew what was going to take place: the crowning with thorns, the beating, and the humniliation, "I feel the need to pray." So He had the Apostles lead Him to the Garden of Gethsemane. But before he went in to pray, He said to the Apostles, "Wait ourside and pray for Me." What he really meant was that, "they are going to come after Me. Protect Me, wait out there."
Jesus went into the Garden and He knelt and He began to think of the crowning with thorns, the beating, the humiliation, the tearing of the flesh. He began to shiver and shake. He was scared. His human element was frightened. He looked toward the Heavens and He said, "Father, if it be possible, take this cross from Me."But then I believe with all my heart, He saw your faces, each and every one of you and He said, "No. NotMy will, Father, but Yours be done." He said that because He loves us so much. When I think of it, it breaks my heart. He knew what He was going to go through.
Jesus' Suffering for Us
You very rarely think of it, but when He was beaten with that whip, there were metal pieces that stuck into His flesh and as they pulled the whip back, it tore His flesh. Then the Crown of Thorns, they weren't little bitty thorns. They were big thorns! They had to be banged into His head. But for love of you, you're worth it. That's what He said, "You're worth it." He did all of this.

Surely, he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him.
(Isaiah 53:4-5)
And with his stripes we are healed.
(Isaiah 53:5)
All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned ev'ry one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

All they that see him, laugh him to scorn; they shoot out their lips, and shake their heads, saying:
(Psalm 22:7)
He trusted in God that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, if he delight in him.
(Psalm 22:8)
He gave his back to the smiters and his cheeks to them that plucked off the hair; he hid not his face from shame and spitting.

Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their yokes from us.
(Psalm 2:3)
for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth, Hallelujah!

(Revelation 19:6; 11:15; 19:16)
I know that my Redeemer liveth,
and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth;
and though worms destroy this body,
yet in my flesh shall I see God.

For now is Christ risen from the dead,
the first fruits of them that sleep.
(1 Corinthians 15:20)
Since by man came death,
by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam we all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
(1 Corinthians 15:21-22)
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain,
and hath redeemed us to God by his blood,
to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength,
and honour, and glory, and blessing.
Blessing and honour, glory and power
be unto him that sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Jesus Messiah's Shroud
which is kept in the royal chapel of Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Turin, Italy.
(In 1958 Pope Pius XII approved of the image in association with the Roman Catholic devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus.)
We will construct the shrines to contain the Holy Face and Shroud of Our Lord Jesus Christ, as well as
to meditate the Mysteries of Joy, Light, Sorrow, and Gloryaccording to the Roman Catholic Traditions.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hollowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy Will be done on earth as is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, The Lord is with thee;
Blessed are thou among women, blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus;
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit;
as it was in the beginning, and is now, and will be forever.
Amen.

The Way of the Cross is a devotion to the Sacred Passion, in which we accompany, in spirit, our Blessed Lord in His sorrowful journey from the house of Pilate to Calvary, and recall to mind, with sorrow and love, all that took place from the time when He was condemned to death to His being laid in the tomb. There are fourteen Stations, or places, in the Way of the Cross, at which something took place. At each Station we should say the Our Father and the Hail Mary with love and sorrow for our sins, meditating on the suffering of our Lord represented to us at the station.
INDULGENCES
Those who devoutly make the Stations of the Cross, may gain a plenary indulgence. Those who are lawfully hindered from making the Station of the Cross, may gain the same indulgence if they read and meditate on the Passion and Death of our Lord for at least on half-hour. (No.63.)
(Catholic Book Publishing Co. New York, 1974)
The fourteen Stations of the Way of the Cross
Kneeling before the altar, make an Act of Contrition, and form the intention of gaining the indulgences, whether for yourself or for the souls in Purgatory.
Then say:
My Lord Jesus Christ, You have made this journey to die for me with love unutterable, and I have so many times unworthily abandoned You; but now I love You with my whole heart, and because I love You, I repent sincerely for having ever offended You. Parden me, my God, and permit me to accompany You on this journey. You go to die for love of me; I wish also, my beloved Redeemer, to die for love of You. My Jesus, I will live and die always united to You.
Dear Jesus You go to die
For very love of me:
Let me bear You company;
I wish to die with You.
1. Jesus is Condemned to Death
O Jesus, help me to appreciate Your sanctifying grace more and more.

2. JesusBearsHis Cross
O Jesus, You chose to die for me. Help me to love You always with all my heart.

3. Jesus Falls the First Time
O Jesus, make me strong to conquer my wicked passions, and rise quickly from sin.

4. Jesus Meets His Mother
O Jesus, grant me a tender love for Your Mother, who offered You for love of me.

5. Jesus is Helped by Simon
O Jesus, like Simon lead me ever closer to You through my daily crosses and trials.

6. Jesus and Veronica
O Jesus, imprint Your image on my heart that I may be faithful to You all my life.

7. Jesus Fallsa Second Time
O Jesus, I repent for having offended You. Grant me forgiveness of all my sins.

8. JesusSpeaks to theWomen of Jerusalem
O Jesus, grant me tears of compassion for Your sufferings and of sorrow for my sins.

9. Jesus Fallsa Third Time
O Jesus, let me never yield to despair. Let me come to You in hardship and spiritual distress.

10. Jesus is Stripped of His Garments
O Jesus, let me sacrifice all my attachments rather than imperil the divine life of my soul.

11. Jesus is Nailed to the Cross
O Jesus, strengthen my faith and increase my love for You. Help me to accept my crosses.

12. Jesus Died on the Cross
O Jesus, I thank You for marking me a child of God. Help me to forgive others.

13. Jesus is Taken down from the Cross
O Jesus, through the intercession of Your holy Mother, let me be pleasing to You.

14. Jesus is Laid in the Tomb
O Jesus, strengthen my will to live for You on earth and bring me to eternal bliss in heaven.

15. Jesus Resurrected
Jesus, You became an example of humility, obedience and patience, and preceded me on the way of life bearing Your Cross. Grant that, inflamed with Your love, I may cheerfully take upon myself the sweet yoke of Your Gospel together with the mortification of the Cross and follow You as a true disciple so thatI may be united with You in heaven. Amen.
